Apropos a news item titled “36 PUCIT teachers ask VC to undo ‘illegal’ appointments made in former VC’s tenure” published in Daily Times on May 22, 2017, Dr Kamran Abid has claimed that the enmity between him and PUCIT Principal Dr Mansoor Sawar was started after he highlighted the alleged occupancy of an official residence by Dr Mansoor Sarwar and overdue house rent of approximately Rs four million. He said that he did his PhD from the School of Engineering, University of Glasgow in 2011. He said that the matter was pending adjudication before the Lahore High Court under writ petition no 31629-14 titled ‘Dr Imran Farid vs University of the Punjab’, concealment of the very fact and such an action of 36 faculty members was beyond anticipation.
