LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has decided to provide a neat and clean environment for cricket lovers duri
ng the World XI series at Qaddafi Stadium.
The LWMC has deployed more than 70 crew members, including sanitary workers and management staff, who will remain on duty until the end of the series for ensuring best sanitation arrangements in the premises, said LWMC Managing Director Bilal Mustafa Syed along with operation and communication team while visiti
ng the stadium on Sunday.
“The LWMC cleanliness squad will assist the stadium’s administration in manual sweeping, waste picking, dusting and washing of washrooms and stadium’s premises also,” he said,
The MD said that the company had installed two waste bins i
n every enclosure of the stadium to facilitate and manage waste. “Nearly 50 to 60 sanitary workers are deputed inside and outside the stadium to clear waste.”
“Mechanical sweeping and washing of the ‘circular road’ around the stadium and other approaching roads is bei
ng done,” he said, adding that 22 staffers would be deputed to supervise cleanliness conditions and keep check and balance on the performance of sanitary workers during matches.
LWMC Head of Communication Department Ali Mazhar said that the LWMC was offering best cleanliness services for the public to enjoy the matches in a clean environment. He appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness and dispose of waste properly in the bins
.
Meanwhile, Communication and Community Interface Department of the LWMC has also placed public service messages to sensitive spectators to maintain cleanliness and there will be a special public announcement to
raise awareness among spectators, he added.
